Humminbird Helix 5 Si Review
Gps System: The Humminbird Helix 5 SI’s GPS system is remarkably accurate and stores up to 2,500 waypoints and 45 different routes. This model also provides 3D charts of lakes, rivers and the U.S. coastline through its built-in UniMap cartography.
Side Imaging Sonar: One of the most advanced features on the Helix 5 SI is its side imaging sonar. This technology generates a 180-degree, side-to-side view of the terrain and fish swimming underwater.
Fantastic Resolution: This model has a five-inch screen with 800×480 resolution that produces crisp images day or night. Capable of split-screen viewing, the display also shows the water temperature, depth and boat speed.
Extra Details: With its dual-beam, transom-mount transducer, the Helix 5 SI sends out a 200/83/455 kHz sonar frequency that penetrates up to 1,500 feet deep. The transducer is included with the fish finder, along with a mounting bracket and a power cord.
Starts Slowly: There’s not much to complain about here. One of the few problems some customers experience with the Helix 5 SI is it turns on slowly. Other than that, most people haven’t had any issues.
