The Good

  • OS
  • CPU
  • Touchpad
  • Displays
  • Optical Drive

The Bad

  • Battery

OS: Running Window’s newest operating system, Windows 10, this machine is fast and capable of running many modern apps for productivity and entertainment. Additionally, Microsoft has announced that they are porting many Xbox One games to Windows 10, meaning more exclusive games.
CPU: The Intel Core i3 processors aren’t the fastest processors on the market, but they’re up there. Intel makes efficient and reliable processors, and this laptop has one inside of its unassuming shell.
Touchpad: This machine features an impressively large touchpad, capable of many useful functions. You don’t necessarily need an external mouse for this laptop, though that’s up to personal preference.
Displays: Having a VGA and HDMI input means this laptop is capable of connecting to older and newer displays for a multiple monitor setup. The HDMI output even supports sound!
Optical Drive: Unlike many modern laptops, this machine has a built-in optical drive. While physical storage has been slowly phased out, there’s plenty of benefits to being able to read and burn DVDs.
Battery: The downside to having powerful internal components in a smaller package is that the battery life takes a hit. Consider keeping near the vicinity of an outlet when using this laptop.

About Thomas J.

Thomas J. grew up surrounded by electronics—apparently quite a bit of static rubbed off on him. Whether it’s the latest phones or the loudest speakers, he’s got quite an opinion on which model is the best.
