Tubes Buyer’s Guide
There’s a lot of technical terms being thrown around in these reviews, so it may benefit you to brush up on some of the features to look for when purchasing the best tube for your needs. Here’s a quick breakdown of some terms you’ll often see and how they relate to your tube experience.
Cover Denier: A unit of weight by which nylon is measured, equal to the weight in grams of 9,000 meters of the yarn. The higher the number, the thicker and stronger the yarn.
Bladder Gauge: A way to measure the strength of the inner bladder. 30-gauge is at the top end of the spectrum, while anything from 24 to 30 gauge is typically fine.
Submarining: The tendency for the tube to dive into the water near the front because of the tug of the boat. This is generally the main safety issue for these tubes, so try to find a product that helps to prevent this issue.
Keep these terms in mind when comparing prices and features to find the Best Tube!
