The Good

  • Built-In Stitches
  • LCD Screen & LED Lights
  • Ease Of Use
  • Small Footprint
  • Free-Motion Quilting

The Bad

  • No Start/Stop Button

Built-In Stitches: The Brother Project Runway CS5055PRW sewing machine has 50 built-in stitches, six different sewing feet and five buttonhole styles. This is enough patterns to keep a beginner sewing sufficiently busy, but not overwhelmed.
LCD Screen & LED Lights: This machine has a bright LCD display that allows you to choose your stitches and their settings. In addition, its LED lights provide a well-lit work area, which comes in handy when working with darker fabrics.
Ease Of Use: While it may have a good amount of stitches and an easy-to-use LCD screen, the real benefit to this machine is its simplicity and helpful features, including automatic needle threading, a top drop-in bobbin loader, a convenient stitch chart and an accessory storage compartment.
Small Footprint: At just 11 pounds, this machine is ultra lightweight and portable. Take it to classes or from room to room effortlessly with its carrying handle and compact design.
Free-Motion Quilting: Get creative with your quilting projects: this machine’s drop feed system helps move your fabric smoothly and allows for easy, free-motion quilting.
No Start/Stop Button: For all the easy-to-use features this machine has, it doesn’t have a start/stop button for speed control convenience. With that said, you’ll become an expert at using foot control very quickly.
