The Good

  • Very Flexible
  • Heel Design
  • Multiple Inserts
  • Stylish Look

The Bad

  • Sizable Straps

Very Flexible: During power lifts, like the clean and jerk, elastic on the top of the Nike Romaleos 2 flexes along with your foot tendons. The best shoes for lifting often give you freedom of movement and don’t fight against you.
Heel Design: At 19 mm, or 3/4 of an inch, the heel of the Romaleos 2 is the optimal height for Olympic weightlifting. A thermoplastic wedge also cups the heel for maximum support without compression. Additionally, the flat rubber outsole is specifically designed to minimize wear in the heel.
Multiple Inserts: These lifting shoes come with two insoles, a soft sole and a stiffer, more contoured sole. The harder insert provides a few more millimeters of heel height and is recommended for competition, while the softer insole is meant for training.
Stylish Look: While it includes many weightlifting features, the Romaleos 2 are aesthetically pleasing as any weightlifting shoe on the market. It comes in a variety of colors and has a stylish design.

Sizable Straps: There’s little to complain about this high-end shoe, but one issue some customers have found are the size of the straps. When pulled tight, the top strap extends down the side of the shoe and can become a nuisance.
