The Good

  • Simplicity
  • Reliability
  • Practicality

The Bad

  • Weight
  • Simplicity

Simplicity: This is one of the simplest products available to golfers – yes that’s a plus. When you put the battery in the Simmons 801600 Volt 600, you’re going to be able to start finding accurate ranges immediately,  without any type of user confusion.
Reliability: If you’re looking for one of the best rangefinders for golf, this is a product you should consider. It’s going to give you a spot-on distance from the target each and every time, and you’re not going to need to recalibrate or reconfigure any of the settings.
Practicality: This isn’t a flashy product with a ton of bells and whistles; it’s about as bland of a rangefinder as you’re going to find. That’s not a bad thing, however, as it’s not going to be confusing for golfers who may be tech-averse or those who simply want to make quick reads on their shots.

Weight: The Simmons 801600 Volt 600 is a heavy rangefinder compared to the rest of the competition. At 7.7 ounces, it’s going to be heavy in your pocket, especially considering it isn’t jam-packed with extra features.

Simplicity: While some golfers may like the lack of features, others may be completely mystified as to why this model can’t do more. If you’re a tech-savvy individual, you might want to look to a more complicated rangefinder.
